Abstract

In this Paper, torque and shaft vibration were restrained and suppressed using explicit model predictive controller. Explicit model predictive controller is used to control and reduce vibration. Explicit model predictive controller is used to solve problems with complex equations. This controller, contrary to the implicit model predictive controller that operates online, only operates in offline mode and designs the controller. In order to design a more suitable controller, an intelligent particle swarm optimization algorithm would be used for optimization and minimization of weighting coefficients' cost function of EMPC controller. This algorithm is used for finding and searching the best coefficients that can be used for finding the lowest response costs. For evaluation and analysis purposes, designed controller was compared to PI controller and implicit model predictive control (MPC) and then superiority of the designed EMPC controller was evaluated and compared. Changes in design parameters, system model and investigation of effects stemming from these changes on the controller have been provided as well. All simulations in this study were carried out in MATLAB software.
