Abstract

We propose a particle model for investigating the optical noisy image recovery via stochastic resonance. The light propagating in nonlinear media is regarded as moving particles, which are used for analyzing the nonlinear coupling of signal and noise. Owing to nonlinearity, a signal seeds a potential to reinforce itself at the expense of noise. The applied electric field, noise intensity, and correlation length are important parameters that influence the recovery effects. The noise-hidden image with the signal-to-noise intensity ratio of is successfully restored and an optimal cross-correlation gain of 6.1 is theoretically obtained.
