Abstract
A table-lookup particle identification scheme for ΔE- E counter telescopes which uses the semi-empirical range-energy data of Northcliffe and Schilling is presented. It is particularly suited for use with very thin ΔE detectors. Plots of some of the tables used are also given for use in the design of experiments.
