Abstract

We propose a configuration for optical binding of nanoparticles over a thin fiber under a plane wave illumination. We have shown that the interference of the field scattered into a guided mode of a nanofiber results in the formation of optomechanically stable configurations. Our estimations of the binding force and the trapping parameter for dielectric particles show that it is potentially possible to observe particle binding over a nanofiber experimentally.
