Abstract

Many companies in Germany are facing the question of whether and how they can maintain their commitment to providing in-house vocational training in light of changing company conditions and challenging developments in the economic sector and on the training market. Inter-company vocational training collaborations could be an option here. Using data from two company surveys of the Referenz-Betriebs-System (RBS), this article examines the spread of inter-company training collaborations and the role that changed conditions play in encouraging companies to participate in them. The analyses show that impulses for this can be expected not only from in-company structural features but above all from difficulties in filling training places.
