Participation of Coastal Communities in the Development of Sports Tourism in Takalar Regency, Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of participation of the Sampulungan community in the development of sports tourism in the coastal area. The type of research used in this research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This study uses a case study research design to describe how the Sampulungan community participates in developing sports tourism in coastal areas. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, documentation, observation, and focus group discussions (FGD). The results of this study reveal that there is growing public awareness of holding cultural festivals and participating in improving tourist destinations in the Sampulungan coastal area, such as culinary tours and children's playgrounds, as well as water sports tourism.
