Abstract

Prostaglandin synthetase has been isolated and purified from the post mitochondrial supernatant of the testis of male silkmoth Bombyx mori L. A 3-fold purification was achieved compared to that of post mitochondrial supernatant. The partially purified enzyme converted arachidonic acid to PGE 2 in vitro in the presence of haemin and hydroquinone.
