Abstract

AbstractWe report experimental results for the longitudinal and transverse relaxation rates of the35Cl and81Br nuclear magnetizations in aqueous electrolyte solutions containing the paramagnetic ion Mn2+as a function of the temperature and frequency.19F longitudinal relaxation rates are also reported for aqueous solutions of NaBF4+ MnBr2as a function of temperature and frequency. Using standard procedure the first coordination number of Mn2+with respect to the three anions mentioned are determined. Furthermore, residence times of these anions in the first coordination sphere are derived from the experimental data. Other auxiliary data like quadrupolar relaxation rates, electron spin relaxation times and scalar coupling constants are also reported and discussed.
