Partial half-lives of alpha decay of 151Tb and 149Tb nuclei

Abstract

The alpha branching ratios λ α / λ tot were measured, and partial half-lives of alpha decay for 151Tb and 149Tb nuclei were determined. The alpha branching ratios λ α / λ tot were obtained by the determination of the ratio of intensities of suitably chosen electron conversion lines in Gd and Eu nuclei produced from 151Tb and 149Tb nuclei by electron capture and alpha decay, respectively. The obtained values of λ α / λ tot are 5±1.5 × 10 −6 for 151Tb and 2±0.6 × 10 −1 for 149Tb. Alpha reduced widths and hindrance factors F were calculated.
