Abstract

We have computed partial cross sections for the internal rotational predissociation of certain quasibound states of the NeHF van der Waals complex, using the time-dependent close-coupled wave packet method. These cross sections show strong selectivity in the orbital angular momentum of the outgoing fragments. We provide an explanation of these propensities based on an adiabatic channel interpretation, and discuss the observable physical consequences of the partial cross sections we calculate.
