Abstract

Abstract The role of folk medicine in the social system of the Black Hebrews of Israel is examined in this paper. Similarities in medical and societal structure are identified and the contributions of medicine to the maintenance of Black Hebrew society are explored. An empirical test of some of the suggested contributions is presented.
