Abstract

If one of the Burmester points coincides with the Ball point, the remaining three Burmester points are collinear. If, in addition, a second Burmester point coincides with the Ball point, the Ball-double Burmester point will lie on the coupler centerline of the four-bar linkage formed by using the remaining Burmester pairs as rigid cranks. A point of substantial design value is the fact that the required design parameters are reduced to only two. The charts contained in this part are, therefore, simpler to use in the size synthesis of a straight-line mechanism.
