Abstract
The Legal Action Center has been a central resource for information on 42 CFR Part 2, the regulation protecting (ostensibly, now) confidentiality of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment records, for more than three decades. This article is our 350th one on Part 2 since 2010, when the move to weaken the consent part of the regulations began. So we talked to Legal Action Center attorneys Jacqueline Seitz and Deborah A. Reid last week about the Final Rule for Part 2, issued this month by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) (see Confidentiality for SUD records: Final rule issued, ADAW Feb. 19; https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/adaw.34035).
