Abstract

Nearly 70% of all parotid tumors are benign- fibroma, lymphoma, Warthin tumor (cysadenolymphoma), adenoma, tumor mixtus. The rest 30% are malignant variants and according their histological appiarences only 15% are suitable for operative treatment. Some of them require partial оr total sacriface of facial nerve. We had operated 450 patients with benig and malingnant parotid gland neoplasmas in a period of 10 years. We succeed to preserve facial nerve in some patients with malignant parotid gland tumors.
