Abstract

The 19th century brought key changes in the way cities and their green areas were shaped. One of the key decisions implicating the process of industrialisation, and thus the development of Lublin, was the determination of the location of the Vistula River Railroad Line and the railway station building in Przedmieście Piaski. This process was to be counterbalanced by the newly created public green areas. The aim of the article is a comparative analysis of Lublin's parks in the context of the trends in garden art and realisations of public parks in Europe.
