Abstract

Parity violating asymmetry in high energy proton-nucleon scattering has been studied using the Glauber theory and meson exchange potential model for weak interactions. By varying the weak interaction parameters within the allowed range, we find that it is possible to get the theoretical asymmetries to agree in sign with the observed ones in p −H 2O scattering at 1.5 and 6.0 GeV/ c but not in magnitude which always remains much smaller.
