Abstract

We have previously reported that exposure to ionizing radiation (IR), when combined with ERK signaling, produces intense poly(ADP)ribose polymerase 1 (PARP1) activation. As a result, nuclear NAD+ content is rapidly reduced, leading to increased cell-killing. The present work characterizes the poly(ADP)ribose glycohydrolase (PARG) response during this process.
