Abstract

In industry, the design of output LC filter for the buck converter considers voltage and current ripple constraints, which only guarantees basic filtering performance, while the efficiency, reliability and power density perspectives attract more attention: high efficiency means high power conversion rate; high power density means small volume; high reliability represents long lifetime. Since all three criterions conflict with one another, Pareto-frontier is adopted to reveal the intrinsically tradeoff relationships, and four designs aiming at different directions are theoretically analyzed and experimentally verified.
