Abstract
Purpose: Parenting practices have consistently been linked to adolescent health and well-being, including risk-taking behavior. In particular, authoritative parenting, which balances parental demands and limit-setting with high levels of warmth and support, is associated with beneficial outcomes. To our knowledge, no research has assessed the relationship between parenting style and the health care use of adolescents as they transition to adulthood.
