Abstract

Using naturalistic observation, measures of the social microenvironment were coded for 56 two-year-old children. Mothers filled out the Attachment Q-sort and the Toddler Temperament Scale. Results indicated significant correlations between attachment and temperament scores. Relations between the social microenvironment and attachment remained significant after partialing out variance associated with temperament.
