Abstract

Taguchi method has been used to design ratio of Alkaline Activator (AA) solutions, ratio of experiment to determine the influence of various parameters addition of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) on workability of FA (FA) based Geo-Polymer concrete (GPC). A total of nine mixes were examined to determine the effect of ratio of AAs to FA, molarity of NaOH and percentage activator solutions, ratio of activators to FA, molarity of Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) and replacement level of FA with OPC on workability. ANOVA was carried out to study the contribution of each parameter on the workability of GPC using Minitab software. Mathematical model was developed by using multiple regression analysis for the workability of GPC to confirm the experimental results. The results show that, the replacement level of FA with OPC affects the workability of GPC significantly. The optimum parametric combination was obtained from signal to noise graphs. The mix with 0% OPC, 10M NaOH, AAs to FA ratio 0.4 and ratio of alkaline solutions 2 was found to have the maximum workability.
