Abstract

The problem of steady hydromagnetic laminar heat and mass transfer free convective flow adjacent to an inclined permeable plate is studied taking into account variable reactive index and thermal conductivity, radiation, absorption and order of chemical reaction. The governing boundary-layer equations are formulated and transformed into a set of similarity equations by developing new similarity transformations obtained by point transformations. The resulting equations are solved numerically using Runge-Kutta method. A representative set of results is displayed to illustrate the influences of the various parameters involved in the problem on the axial dimensionless velocity, temperature and concentration distributions. We also computed numerical values of the skin-friction factor, the rate of heat transfer and the rate of mass transfer.
