Abstract

Sense amplifiers plays vital role in sensing the stored data in the memory core. Sense amplifier also helps in reducing overall sensing voltage and delay and effects theoverall power consumption for a memory block. So, it is important to study various sense amplifiers for better performance. This paper focuses on design and performance comparison of various sense amplifier designs. The sense amplifier is analyzed for energy, current, delay and power consumption. The paper also reports the comparative analysis between the various cross coupled voltage mode sense amplifiers and transmission gate voltage mode sense amplifier. The result shows the performance of transmission gate sense amplifier is better in case of energy power and current parameters. All the simulations done using LT spice at 180nm CMOS technology.
