Abstract
The autoresonant generation of dark solitons of the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equationis discussed. The approach is based on capturing the system into a continuing resonance using a small, chirped frequency parametric driving. Adiabatic control of soliton parameters is achieved if the driving amplitude exceeds a threshold.
