Abstract

Abstract The frequency spectrum of acoustic flux in stationary acoustoelectric domains in GaAs has been studied by current noise measurements. In the nonlinear regime parametrically amplified thermal vibrations are observed peaking at subharmonic frequencies. At high pump powers the spectrum is continuous. The observed shift to lower frequencies of the electronic gain is only 10 per cent.
