Abstract

Today, seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination is one of the leading technologies for producing fresh water from the vast oceans which can augment water supply beyond what is available from the hydrological cycle. Quality of SWRO product water, whether used for drinking, domestic purposes, food production, or recreational purposes has an important impact on health. This review identifies 60 priority concerns for the benefit of drinking-water supply system under the framework of an integrated SWRO stages from source to tap, covering the development of up-to-date research trends and full-scale SWRO project experiences.
