Abstract

To enhance the real-time monitoring of sub-/super-synchronous oscillation dynamics by utilizing the advantages of wide-area time-synchronization and dynamic measurement of synchrophasor measurement data, the idea of a parameter identification algorithm with synchrophasor trajectory fitting (PTF) is proposed in this letter to identify the parameters of each component of the instantaneous signal during sub-/super-synchronous oscillations. Simulated PMU data are used to demonstrate the proposed idea and verify the performance of PTF compared with the interpolated DFT algorithm. Discussions are also provided for further improvements.
