Abstract

This study presents results for the estimation of impinging waves' delay, azimuth, elevation and complex amplitude in synthetic and real time-invariant mobile radio environments, using the space-alternating generalized expectation-maximization (SAGE) algorithm. The minimum separation between two waves needed to obtain acceptable estimations is investigated in some particular cases. Experimental results on real channels are shown and compared with simulations performed by a ray-tracing method. Conclusions about the performance of the algorithm are presented.
