Abstract

The authors explore the fields of digital continuous simulation and system modeling, highlighting areas in which efficiency can be improved by concentrating on how best to apply parallel processing techniques. They discuss a wide variety of parallel methods that can be applied to large-scale and complex continuous systems, forming a basis for real-time operation. A number of these techniques are being applied to the simulation of several real-world systems, including a guided-missile controller and the US Space Shuttle's main rocket engines. >
