Abstract

The aspect of power generation has changed, which gives much importance to renewable power sources. Solar power has gained high attention these days. Variable in nature and high fluctuation in the output of renewable sources make it difficult for maintaining the DC grid voltage constant. To overcome these constrains of renewable energy sources different types storage systems need to be incorporated. Battery as storage system can solve these problems to some extent. But slow dynamics of the battery can effect the system stability. This paved the way for using hybrid energy storage system consisting of batteries and super capacitor at DC grid. So that , high energy density of battery and high power density of super capacitor can be combined. This project proposes active power sharing of dc microgrid connected to an ac grid by using parallel combination of inverters. Power management is in such a way that it consider the state of charge limits of battery, load changes and PV power variations. Dc link voltage will be better since supercapacitor reduces the current stress on battery.
