Abstract

This paper describes multi-scale analysis of coupled heat and moisture transport performed on parallel computers. Multi-scale analyses are very computationally demanding because a sequence of problems on low level scales has to be solved many times. The coupled heat and moisture transport is based on the Kunzel model and only two scales are used in this contribution. The problems on lower scale are spread among slave processors while the problem on the higher level is solved on the master processor. The multi-scale approach is used for analysis of existing historical masonry structure.
