Abstract

Everybody wants to build Smart Cities but what is needed to make them come true. Which city pain points are hindering Smart City development and how can they be best overcome. The big cities in India are normally crowded and the city's existing infrastructure falls short to satisfy the growing needs. This problem is also combined with the inefficient use of parking space and uneven distribution of traffic which leads to congestion in vehicular traffic. This paper proposes a design approach for a smart car parking system based on controllers. By detecting the vehicle movement on highways and switching on the block of street light ahead of it and simultaneously switching off the trailing lights is something which can save huge amount of power consumption in National highways. In the aviation industry, have been looking for the opportunity to adopt RFID in baggage handling for a long time. RFID tags were found to be far more accurate than bar codes. Developments in logistics have been changing the world faster than ever. Radio frequency identification (RFID) is an emerging technology that is increasingly being used in business and industry. RFID tags are chips embedded in items which store and transmit information about these items. Most RFID tags store data that identifies a specific item. RFID readers are radio frequency transmitters and receivers that communicate with the tags. Readers, using an attached antenna, receive data from the tag and then pass it to a computer system for processing. The computer system receives the data from the RFID reader through a cable or wireless connection for storage, interpretation and action.
