PAPULAR ACRODERMATITIS of childhood, or the Gianott i -Crost i syndrome, is a dist inct disease ent i ty Characterized by the following: a nonrecurrent , nonor only mildly prurit ic, papular , l ichenoid exanthem, mild generalized lymphadenopathy , and, in most instances, anicter ic hepati t is B. The skin manifes ta t ions were first described by Gianot t i ~ in 1955. Later , the association with anicter ic hepati t is was recognized, 2 as well as the presence of hepati t is B surface an t i gen ) -4 W e report an 18-month-old child with PAC, hepati t is B surface antigen-posit ive (chronic) anicter ic hepatitis, wi th virus subtype adw.
