Abstract

In recent years one of key technologies of 5G, the filter bank multicarrier with offset quadrature amplitude modulation (FBMC-OQAM) has been studied widely by many researchers. In this paper, the problem of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction is considered for FBMC-OQAM systems using cuckoo search optimization algorithm(CSOA). Because of overlapping structure of FBMC-OQAM signals the CSOA is not directly applying to FBMC-OQAM systems. It is used for multiblock joint of system when the transmit sequences are divided into partial transmit sequence (PTS) for PAPR reduction. In the combinatorial search space, stochastic and metaheuristic can be applied to solve non-deterministic polynomial hard (NP-hard). CSOA can be guaranteed to the optimal solution without exhaustive search. It is shown that the PAPR of FBMC-OQAM systems is reduced by CSOA in theoretical analysis and simulations illustrations. Complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF)of in PAPR can be obtained under the same parameters of subcarriers number and modulation type.
