Abstract
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems are significantly affected by peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR). One of the straightforward methods to solve this problem is to use selected mapping (SLM) algorithm. The main idea of SLM scheme is to select the phase factors that minimize the PAPR and transmit these factors as side information (SI). In this paper, a new phase factors based on the diagonal elements of Riemann matrix is proposed. The results indicates that the introduced scheme has better PAPR reduction and power spectral density (PSD) performance compared to several SLM-based methods. Further, it does not need SI transmission. Also bit error rate (BER) of the proposed phase factor does not degrade with respect to conventional SLM.
