Abstract

The ectodermally derived, ciliated, respiratory mucosa that lines the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses, so called Schneiderian membrane, gives rise to three morphologically distinct papillomas. These are referred to individually as the exophytic, inverted, and oncocytic Schneiderian papillomas or, collectively, as Schneiderian papillomas. We reported a case of exophytic schneiderian papilloma arising from the nasal septum and extending to sphenoid sinuses and ethmoid cells. We adopted endoscopic approach and removed the tumor thoroughly. Also, a retrospective analysis of 19 patients with schneiderian papilloma as seen at our institution during the past 10 years is presented.
