Abstract

Some immature squamous lesions of the cervix (papillary and nonpapillary atypical immature squamous proliferations) have been described recently. Papillary immature metaplasia have been well defined. It's characterized by a metaplastic growth pattern of variable maturation,the presence of papillary architecture ranging from small papilla to slender projections, lining cells exhibiting variable cytologic atypia . Our two patients diagnosed as papillary immature metaplasia have been discussed with literature findings. We compared expression of Ki- 67 between papillary immature metaplasia, low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion, high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion, squamous metaplasia and mature squamous epithelium.
