Abstract

Two additional cases of papillary carcinoma in thyroglossal duct remnants are presented. One patient is eighteen months postoperative without recurrence, the second patient has only recently been operated upon. The occurrence of carcinoma in this area adds another indication for early operation of thyroglossal duct anomalies. The Sistrunk procedure, advocated by so many, is the procedure of choice [12,13].
