Abstract
Tendon-bone healing using periosteum wrapped around tendon grafts was reported in our previous studies. The cambium layer of periosteum contains pluripotent progenitor cells that can differentiate into cartilage and bone during tendon-bone healing. In order to promote tendon-bone healing, we developed periosteum progenitor cell sheets as artificial periosteum to wrap the tendon graft to enhance tendon-bone tunnel healing in ACL reconstruction.
