Abstract
An in vivo sheep model was used to examine the effect of different transphyseal ACL reconstruction techniques on longitudinal growth. The following risk factors for growth disturbances were analyzed: (1) injury to the perichondral groove of Ranvier on the femoral side, (2) transphyseal bony bridge formation with respect to different graft diameters and (3) transphyseal graft fixation using a biodegradable interference screw on the tibial side.
