Abstract

This study seeks to outline and analyze a number of revolts involving taxation in the Middle Ages, including, among others, the Peasants' Revolt of 1525, the 1380/81 revolts, the financial revolts of Edward I and Philip IV against the Papacy and the uprising against Parthenius under the Merovingian Franks.
