Abstract

A sudden increase in the number of viral pneumonias with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic revealed defects in the provision of medical care for acute pneumonia in the lungs. Localization of the inflammatory process and its functional consequences indicate the identity of all forms of acute pneumonia, regardless of the etiology, and the need to develop treatment principles based on the pathogenesis of the disease.
