Abstract
This study aimed to describe the perception of the risk of mental illness of doctors who work in health services, including considering COVID-19, in the state of Minas Gerais, having as a reference the psychodynamics of work. In methodological terms, the study was classified as descriptive, with a quantitative approach, carried out through a survey, with a calculated sample of 401 subjects. Data were collected from the Inventory on Work and Illness Risks (ITRA) and the Scale of Action of Defense Strategies Scale (EAED). Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics. Regarding the constructs, the respondents classified, on average, in the following categories: (1) critical: constructs' work organization ',' working conditions', 'socio-professional relations',' physical cost ',' affective cost ',' professional exhaustion 'and' physical damage '; (2) severe: ‘cognitive cost’ construct; (3) satisfactory, bearable and positive: constructs ‘professional achievement’, ‘freedom of expression’, ‘recognition for work’, ‘psychological harm’, ‘social harm’ and ‘defense strategies’.
