Abstract

Pancytopenia is a clinico-haematological entity often seen in clinical practice as a characteristic of various diseases, vary from non-malignant as drug-induced pancytopenia, nutritional deciencies or infections, to malignant neoplasms. The aim of this study was to evaluate Aim: pancytopenia's clinico-hematological prole. The study was conducted in the depart Materials and Methods: ment of pathology of our college. A prospective study was carried out among 100 patients of pancytopenia. Clinical ndings, CBC & bone marrow examination were performed. Result: Out of 100 cases, 65% were megaloblastic anemia, 11% were dimorphic anemia. Generalized weakness seen in 85% cases. Pallor was present in all cases of pancytopenia. The present study concludes that the e Conclusion: arly hematological investigations along with clinical and bone marrow examination of pancytopenia are helpful in understanding the disease process and to diagnose and to rule out various causes of pancytopenia
