Abstract

Background: Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a progressive disease of the biliary system characterized by fibrosing inflammatory damage of the biliary tree. Patients with PSC are at an increased risk of biliary dysplasia and cholangiocarcinoma. Early recognition and management of these conditions are challenging, especially in the setting of worsening liver function and cirrhosis.
