Abstract

For the first time in Algeria, a palynological study of the deposits of the upper Pliensbachian–lower Toarcian in the Benzerka section (Traras Mountains, northwestern Algeria) has identified sporomorphs (spores and pollen grains) associated with acritarchs and algae. Some spores and pollen taxa provide new stratigraphic information for the lower limit of the Bayada Beds Formation.
