Abstract
Deposits were studied from the bentonite clay mine in Gornja Jelenska on Mt. Moslavacka Gora where the remains of Dinotherium bavaricum KAUP had been found. It was established by palynological methods that sediments had been deposited during the Upper Karpathian - Lower Badenian stage (between 15.5 - 17 m.y. ago). The climate was warm, subtropical. Sedimentation took place in swamp which was surrounded by meadows and hill-side forests.
