Abstract

Fourteen palynological zones are recognized in the Cretaceous and Palaeocene exposed along the Pacific coast of Russia, from Primorye in the south to Chukotka in the extreme north-east. Each palynozone corresponds to a distinct stage of floristic evolution. The palynological correlation scheme incorporates all data from marine faunas, macroflora, and continental faunas (e.g., dinosaurs). Comparisons with palynological zonations for other parts of Asia, North America, and Australia reveal a potential for inletcontinental palynological correlation of Cretaceous and Palaeocene rocks.
