Abstract
The solutions of the general Hartree-Fock equations for the electron gas are discussed with reference to Fukutome's classification. Solutions of different character are constructed by pairing occupied and virtual restricted Hartree-Fock spin orbitals. The results of illustrative calculations for k-independent pairing are described and discussed.
