Abstract

Paired electrolysis is an ideal electrochemical process using both anodic and cathodic reaction to produce target compounds. This chapter introduces three types of paired electrolysis. Sequential reactions are one of the chemical processes which can be achieved by paired electrolysis. Paired electrolysis can produce two different products at the same time. Two reactive intermediates generated at both anode and cathode can be combined in-cell or ex-cell to synthesize a single product under the reaction conditions of paired electrolysis.
